The foremost English historian of the twelfth century, William of Malmesbury wrote an influential account of the "Deeds of the English Kings". Spanning events from 449 to 1127, it is now considered one of the great histories of English literature. Revered for his thorough research, use of sources and engaging prose style, William was a strong Latin stylist, influenced by the groundbreaking work of the Venerable Bede. His chronicle is regarded as an authority of considerable value from 1066 onwards, offering a rare window into the life and thoughts of twelfth century Norman Britain. Delphi's Medieval Library provides eReaders with rare and precious works of the Middle Ages, with noted English translations and the original texts. The founder of modern sculpture, Auguste Rodin was a late nineteenth century pioneer, whose work changed the course of the history of art. His greatest achievement was the restoration of the role of ancient sculpture, showing that a modern artist could capture the physical and intellectual force of a subject, while freeing the artistic medium from the repetition of traditional patterns. Rodin's enduing popularity is often ascribed to his emotion-laden representations of ordinary men and women and his ability to find beauty and pathos. Masterpieces such as 'The Kiss' and 'The Thinker' are widely used outside the fine arts as symbols of human emotion, transcending the sculptor's medium and helping us to understand the fundamental essence of being a human. Delphi's Masters of Art Series presents the world's first digital e-Art books, allowing readers to explore the works of great artists in comprehensive detail. This volume presents Rodin's collected works, with concise introductions, hundreds of high quality images and the usual Delphi bonus material. (Version 1)

The late Victorian artist John William Waterhouse produced stunning paintings of women from ancient mythology, Shakespearean drama and Arthurian legend. The darling of the Royal Academy, where he exhibited almost every year throughout his long career, Waterhouse completed artworks that were celebrated for their rich, glowing colour and veiled eroticism. Embracing the style of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, which had split up several decades before, Waterhouse depicted dramatic, beautiful and haunting female figures, perfecting his own vision of the all-powerful femme fatale. His paintings embrace a dreamy, romantic manner, with a sensuous handling of paint that gave them a unique identity. Delphi's Masters of Art Series presents the world's first digital e-Art books, allowing readers to explore the works of great artists in comprehensive detail. This volume presents Waterhouse's complete paintings in beautiful detail, with concise introductions, hundreds of high quality images and the usual Delphi bonus material. (Version 1)

The teacher of Demosthenes, Isaeus was an early 4th century BC orator, who was later listed as one of the ten Attic orators, according to the Alexandrian canon. His twelve extant orations are all on subjects connected with disputed inheritances, on which subject Isaeus appears to have been well acquainted. His oratory resembles the style of his teacher, Lysias, notable for its pure Attic and lucid quality. However, Isaeus is more aggressive and flexible in his presentation, which went on to influence the work of Demosthenes. Delphi's Ancient Classics series provides eReaders with the wisdom of the Classical world, with both English translations and the original Greek texts. This eBook presents Isaeus' complete extant works, with illustrations, informative introductions and the usual Delphi bonus material. (Version 1)
